DONATION PICKUP

  1. STANDARD PICKUP:

    • Pickups within 2-4 weeks from the first day of contact, due to the large amount of donations we pick up.

    • Only large items, such as appliances and large furniture pieces, picked up.

    • Items must be outside of the residence or storage unit or in the garage for retrieval.

    • FREE pickups for residents of Denton County only.

    • Please call (940) 382-8487 to inquire about your donation pickup and our awesome staff will work with you to schedule a donation time.


  2. PRIORITY PICKUP **NEW**:

    • Pickups as soon as 2 business days (Mon-Sat), subject to timeslot availability.

    • Items of ANY condition picked up.

    • Item retrieval from anywhere including within residence or a storage unit.

    • Disassembly of items that need it (except doors, cabinets, or lighting).

    • Pickup fee reflects the operating costs and is much smaller than a usual moving company or junk hauler fee (fee is not tax deductible, but donated items are).

Should I donate this?

Your new or gently used household goods and building supplies can help Habitat for Humanity partner with local families to build, rehabilitate and repair homes locally in Denton County. But what items do we accept? Scroll down to peruse our lists of Donations Wanted and Unacceptable Items.

Donations Wanted

  • Appliances: Refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, freezers, microwaves, ovens

  • Furniture: Dining sets, dressers, bookshelves, end tables.

  • Building materials: Lumber (4’ or larger), plywood, trim, insulation, tools, paint (with restrictions).

  • Home decor: Picture frames, art, knick-knacks.

  • Cabinets: Kitchen, bathroom, countertops.

  • Lawn: Patio furniture, mowers, blowers, weed eaters, lawn tools.

  • Lighting: Chandeliers, table lamps, floor lamps, ceiling fans.

  • Hardware: Hinges, doorknobs, nails, fasteners, electrical, cabinet pulls.

  • Plumbing: Low-flow toilets, sinks, new bathtubs. No composite material.

  • Flooring: Tile, laminate, new carpet, linoleum, carpet tile, hardwood. No nails, glue, or loose items.

  • Windows: Double hung, picture, antique, bay (complete with all sashes, no broken parts).

Donations should be in working order and have no missing hardware or broken parts; deep scratches, chips or crackers; fabric with stains, tears, or strong odors; pet hair or stains; or other major damage. Donation criteria may change over time, so please contact the store for more details at (940) 382-8487. The store is happy to provide a donation receipt for tax purposes.

Unacceptable Items

  • Couches, sofas

  • Mattresses and box springs

  • Clothing

  • Used bathtubs

  • Cabinets with mold, mildew, or water damage

  • Headboards and bed frames

  • PVC pipe

  • Baby items

  • Toilets larger than 1.6 gallons

  • Used 1-gallon and 5-gallon paint

  • Unframed glass or mirrors

  • Used carpet

  • Plumbing fixtures that are not EPA compliant

  • Fluorescent, commercial or mercury lighting

  • Water heaters

  • Fire-rated doors (asbestos exposure)

  • Ammunition/weapons
